X = Armature length
D = distance traveled
Y = D
Torque calculation:
C= 2 pi X
D= theta/360 *2 pi x
X(cm)=5,10,15,20,25
Y is the Distance (m)
The table below explains the calculations needed for arc length and the torque. The purpose of the calculations is to theoretically check if the servos can carry enough weight.
The torque of the MG90S servo is 1.8 kg-cm convert to n-m so that would be 0.17 n-m.
By looking at the calculations the group decided that the lengths the servos have appropriate torque is too small, therefore the group decided to switch MG92B servos which have 3.3 kg-cm, a little under twice the torque of the previous servos.
